If you’re tired of staring at your eyebrows for hours and looking ridiculous, the answer may be staring at a blank screen.
But it may not be a good idea to stare at your own eyes, as this can cause your eyebrows to flak off and cause eye strain.
Here are some ways to fix the problem.
Flaky eyebrows have been linked to eye strain and discomfort The cause of flaky eyebrow problems can be complex, according to dermatologist Dr. Andrew Smith.
“The causes of flakiness are not completely understood, but there is evidence that they can be caused by a number of factors including stress, anxiety and a lack of sleep,” Smith says.
“In a study in the journal Ophthalmology, researchers found that women with flaky eyelashes reported higher levels of stress and sleep disturbances than women with regular eyelashes.”
But even though there are multiple possible causes, the best solution is to make sure your eyelashes are clean and dry, Smith says, adding that your skin can play a part too.
“For women, there are two things you need to do to get rid of flaking eyelashes: make sure they’re clean and moist and get enough sleep,” he says.
Smith also recommends that women get some eyelash products, such as mascara, to get the extra protection they need.
“If you’re worried about eyelash flaking, a few simple products can help.
I use Clinique Lash Balm and Cover Girl Eyelash Primer, both of which are lightweight and moisturizing, to keep your eyelash lashes looking healthy,” he advises.”
When you do have the flakiest eyelashes, you should avoid wearing high heels or wearing makeup as much as possible,” Smith adds.
